TWO DAYS OF DANCING AT WRELTON
Friday 11th October 2013
If you want great fun – this is the place to come! By very popular demand again in Wrelton Village Hall (2 miles from Pickering), DJ Lynne and Terry are presenting another nostalgic evening of music and fun from WW2 Years - they have taken over the organisation of the event from Carol, due to her family circumstances. The previous successful format will be followed, with the evening including original soundtrack reflections of some events from those WW2 years, but the main focus will be party fun and dancing to your favourite music of this era that will include waltzes, foxtrots, swing, jitterbug, the valeta, St Bernard Waltz, military two step, cha cha cha, barn dance, cokey cokey, charlston etc - as well as some surprises as usually thrown in by DJ Lynne and Terry and maybe even a few party games! As always, DJ Lynne will endeavour to accommodate your favourite dance music upon request – and you can even now e-mail DJ Lynne in advance with ideas (djlynne13@yahoo.com). The party spirit of the evening will include some community singing of WW2 songs, and reflections of those good old days, concluding with The Exhortation (new - as a mark of respect) and by tradition now with Land of Hope & Glory plus Vera Lynne's famous song We'll Meet Again! There will be a limited bar (own drinks optional). A good buffet is provided, all included within the price of the tickets at only £15 each (small increase due to Hall Hire revised charges) that will be available only from the Pickering Tourist Information Centre (01751 473791) from 1st March 2013 onwards - early advanced booking is very strongly recommended as popularity demands that the event now is held over two nights! Excellent value for three and a half hours’ entertainment in a modern warm but traditional local village hall that has a good dance floor, food provided and a very friendly atmosphere ! Many will be meeting here again after many previous years’ highly enjoyable experiences – so come in your uniforms and 1940’s attire (important) and join us !
